Hi,
Recently my old psu (600w, some no mark brand from aria.co.uk) started making a grinding/rattling noise when the fan kicked in. I read a post saying to put a pencil or something in the fan before turning the computer on to see if it was the psu making the noise, i did, and the psu exploded (idiotic of me i know)
I had my new one to hand (750w corsair cx750 modular 80 bronze) and installed it along with my new i5 3750k.
However when i turned my computer on, the case lights came on, fans kicked in and after five seconds it shut down and then restarted itself and did exactly the same thing. Been trying to figure out for hiurs whats up with it, tried connrcting the pins again, theyre all hooked up, any suggestions or help would really be appreciated. Is it possible the motherboard or other components were damaged when the old psu exploded? Theres no 'beep' when the computer starts. Also my monitor seems to have stopped working :(

Ah, yep, had this problem back with my very first build. Reinstall the processor, and make sure not to apply ANY pressure when laying it in the socket. DO NOT push down on it with your finger or anything. Simply LAY it in the socket and the lever/latch will provide any and all pressure necessary.

Also make sure to put it in the right way of course, but that should be obvious.
