I have a AMD HD6450 1GB by Asus and in the Second PCI - E slot i have Ge-force 8400 GS 512 mb and with 3 awesome VGA only Dell monitors I have accomplished a wicked (except psu and video card is weak) setup.

So Even if its Microsoft flight simulator I want to stretch a game across 3 screens!

MY Hd6450 Supposedly has Eyefinity... but I don't know about the ASUS version

I have seen hacks and fixes.. yes there's eyefinity and surround.. but unless you can tell me a less than 60 dollar video card I can buy that uses those technologies to switch.. then help me work with this setup and find a game that will STRETCH ACROSS or USE all 3 (1+2 extended ) Screens/Monitors> ???

I have seen patches and blah blah. I don't care what the method is I just wanna be amazed... PLEASE help me on that note..THANkS GUYS!

Hi there,

First of all, the Asus HD6450 does have eyefinity. In order to get eyefinity working it requires an active display port. Ie one of your screens plugged into the display port either natively or through an adapter and the other two screens to your personal preference. (Just re-read your post and yuou mentioned vga only so you would need an adapter should you wish to pursue this)

Unfortunately, the HD6450 could end up struggling pushing to a tri monitor setup.

In terms of hacks and fixes, cross check the games you want to play with http://www.wsgf.org/mgl as this will give you the information you need wether it be that the game is natively supported (out of the box support through in game options) or if you have to perform...

Finally, just bear in mind that a weak PSU combined with a GPU that is being stressed to it's limits is not an advisable situation. I would advise to stick with one monitor. If tri screen is your end all then a display port adapter should make your life alot easier.

Good luck in your furture endeavours

OK Thanks alot.... as far as the PSU goes. my ASUS 6450 does not draw anywhere near what is say it could... I keep an eye on that! For sure. The thing is .. there is no displayport on the back of this....

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121439

and I just want to take a picture of it and be amazed.. but I want to upgrade to a better card... Medioum settings now lag is fine for me, so whats 2x better but don't cost too much? I m Very froogle. Was looking at 57xx? amd.

When choosing a PSU you always work on maximums because when a stressful rendering situation occurs your GPU will draw more power. If the PSU does not have the safety systems in place and is not a decent enough size then it can fluctuate potentially damaging components. So definitely keep an eye on it/

I'm not too knowledgeable on the AMD side of things (I've installed NVidia in my own machine) but from a quick google search the 57 series will do what youre after. You will still need the display port adapter though to get eyefinity working.

I actually missed a point on my previous post, in order to get eyefinity working on the current 6450 card you would need a passive dvi - display port active adapter (not really viable with your monitors)

You can read more about eyefinity requirements here

http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/amd-eyefinity-technology/how-to/Pages/faqs.aspx#multiple-display-requirements

Finally, your GPU needs for playable framerates across tri monitors will depend largely on the type of games you are looking to play. I would advise starting a new post asking for help choosing a GPU, outline your monitor situation and that you're after eyefinity and what games you are looking to play aswell as your budget. That will give you a better range of comments that should help you reach your goal.

Good luck :)

you won't be able to game using an nvidia card + an amd card across multiple monitors
it's also the horrible truth that as you increase resolution you are locking yourself into an increase gpu budget.

what resolution are these monitors and what inputs do they have?

does your specific 6450 support crossfire as you best bet might be to get a second 6450 that supports crossfire and crossfire them. not all 6450's support it apparently.

Windows can't stretch a game across multiple monitors.
AMD can do this with eyefinity. Cards support a single analogue connection (VGA or DVI-I). At least one of the three needs to be display port.
Nvidia can do this with Nvidia surround. Cards support a single analogue connection (VGA or DVI-I). Nvidia GT 640 and up support this.
Low end cards are hopelessly underpowered though to run games on three monitors.

The 6450 is not intended for gaming, and your specific card is not capable of supporting 3 monitors simultaneously. Grab a 7750 or 7770 and you'll be able to run 3 monitors without a huge power draw overhead and much much better gaming performance.

I know this.... I know ALOT OF THIS lol I just was looking specifically until I get a 7750... Like the guy mentioned first any games with a hack or two to force it through the current 2 or 3 screens setup... Like secret or found out.. thing... came across.

Not this is what it's intended for.. Thanks for all the Answers I was just looking for a like Mc guyvertype solution.

I am about to sell two desktops for about $100 each.. So any recommendations? from Micro center ( I love near beltway Maryland/ Rockville location) for PSU & Video card.. I'd rather go to microcenter.. then order online .. I have no problem slapping a $5 warranty on them and going back if it dies out.

I am FROOGLE so i understand i might have to get two 7750's online anyways.

I just don't wanna shoot high thinking.. oh this will be fine. You never know when cheaper things wil do you fine.. I have a life BIG TIME so there won't be aot of playing.. sadly just for me 30 minute amusement and bragging rights.

Hi again,

Just checked this thread again.

Understanding the site gets easier the more you look through it.

Widescreen is extra wide displays (not triple monitor)
HUD is Heads Up Display (its the icons in game that tell you stats - ammo/health etc)
Eyefinity and NVidia Surround will tell you if the game supports triple monitor (those are the only easy ways to support triple monitor in game)

In terms of the fixes

Native support means that the game will register triple monitors and provide the appropriate resolutions in the ingame options.
Hack means it will take further tweaking (usually through the config/ .ini files

Follow their instructions and it should work just remember to take a backup copy of any ini files you edit just incase.

Hope this helps,

Any further help you require I would advise posting a new topic or messaging me personally as I don't generally check up on past topics
