Overclocking AMD FX 6300 with Stock Cooler

Hi. I want to get into overclocking a bit but don't want to invest in a new CPU cooler. What is the easiest way to overclock and how far would you overclock it? I have an Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard and a MSI GTX 770 Gaming Overclocked Edition (should I overclock this as well?) I have a fan in the back of my case blowing air out (Thermaltake Chaser A31) and in the front pulling air in. Thanks for your help!

^^^ That's why I said a mild overclock it's fine. I could hit 4.3 - 4.4 on it too when I had that board. I can hit 4.89 with the same setup except a better board. The more VRM's, the better.

Ive had good luck with that mobo.. I can run my fx-6300 at 4.6 stable at 1.41 and have for a long time!!!!! I have never had any problems at all. Al li see is "don't use 970 boards" but i can say i had a 8320 at 4.4 on the same board for like a year with no problems either.
