You can purchase a modern 3rd generation SATA 3 6Gb/s 128GB solid state drive for less than $100.00 at newegg. Here is an example:

They are also available at newegg's Canadian web site. Both newegg sites are cheaper than ncix.

A 128GB ssd would allow you to install the operating system, software applications, utilities, and several of your favorite games. How many games you can install would depend on the size of the games.

I normally recommend Samsung. The Samsung ssd's perform extremely well and have a proven track record. Plextor and Intel are also worth considering. Recently the new...

To simply store the OS and a "few" games on there, I'd suggest a 64 gig SSD.

http://www.staples.com/SanDisk-64GB-25-SATA-III-6-Gb-s-MLC-Internal-Solid-State/product_862345&cm_mmc=CJ-_-affiliate-_-feed-_-listing&cm_mmc=CJ-_-affiliate-_-feed-_-listing?PID=3938566&storeId=10001&AID=10422268&cm_mmc=CJ-_-3938566-_-3938566-_-10422268&CID=AFF%3A3938566%3A3938566%3A10422268

And Western Digital is always a great choice for storage. And 1TB is more than sufficient unless you plan to download the entire internet, then good luck.

I didn't even know they made SSD's under 100GB... I don't plan on using this for anything except the operating system and maybe 1-3 games at a time at max. If 64GB is enough that's great

Edit: I'm still looking at alterntives for an SSD, if you would like to recommend a good 120GB that would be fantastic :)

I maintain the ssd database listed in a sticky at the very top of this forum section. Here is the link:

Ah, I see. Then I'll suggest this

By the way, kudos to you for going out of your way to find the problem, people rarely do such things in dedication to research.
