Hey, this is my first build and I need some help with choosing parts for overclocking. I'm building in a bitfenix prodigy with an i5 4670k and the asrock z87e-itx motherboard. Originally I was planning on getting the corsair h60 as it is the cheapest water cooler I can afford (they are incredibly overpriced in NZ) however after futher investigation I found that the noctua nh-d14 was only NZ $20 more. Here are my questions: Is it woth spending the extra money? Would the noctua be compatible with my case and motherboard? And would I have to get lower profile ram? I currently am getting G.Skill ripjaws 2x4gb. I plan to try and overclock as much as I can in the future.

Hi,
My advice: Stay well clear of low end water coolers such as the h60. It is a lot better and cost effective to get an air cooler. For air coolers I recommend the enermax ets-t40-tb: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835214023&clickid=1c3RrJ1ofS4izw7QwoTKzwg3UkTR0N3NA0GDV00&iradid=97618&ircid=2106&irpid=79301&nm_mc=AFC-IR&cm_mmc=AFC-IR-_-na-_-na-_-na

It is amazing for a $30 cooler (i have it). Plus it comes with high quality thermal paste (better than mx 4) so no need to buy that as well. The noctua nh-d14 is overpriced imo. If you wanted to get real cooling a custom water loop or high end all in one (such as h100) is the only way to go. Otherwise get an air cooler.

I hope this helped :)

EDIT: Also the enermax...

EDIT: Also the enermax cooler will fit high profile ram (I have the same ram as you and it fits my msi g-45 mobo fine)
