I bought these parts yesterday from several different websites.

CM Hyper 212 EVO - $29.98
Patriot Viper Low Profile 2 x 4GB - $74.99
Samsung 840 EVO 250GB SSD - $153.99
WD Blue 1TB - $59.98
EVGA GTX 770 2GB - $349.99
Fractal Design R4 Black - $116.98
EVGA SuperNova 650W 80+ Gold Fully Modular - $74.99
LG CD/DVD Writer - $20.44
Windows 8.1 - $89.99
TP Link WDN4800 WiFi Card - $41.09

Going to Microcenter today to pick up an i5-4670K and not sold on a motherboard just yet. I could go several ways here. Was thinking about an Asus ROG, but I feel they're so gimmicky that it's a waste of money. Maybe a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H? I'll also be checking out monitors while I'm there, but I doubt I'll buy it there unless there's a good deal. I'm not overly concerned about my budget, but I don't think a $300 motherboard is necessary. Perhaps you can convince me otherwise though.

Yeah, this build looks cool man, prices change and this would have been suggested a day ago, mainly that RAM, now it might be gSkill Ripjaws for 69.99 or something like that, but yeah, all around pretty cool, good PSU brand, SSD, etc.

I really like this board here;

Motherboard: ASRock Z87 Pro3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($94.99 @ Newegg)

Assuming you wont SLi/CF

There are better ones, I just don't get spending a ton on a board that will be swapped out two or three or four years down the road xD

This is the RAM I was talking about, but tomorrow or the next day I'll probably suggest something else xD prices for RAM are high, and manufactures are getting competitive as all heck xD

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($64.99 @ Newegg)

+1 on the AsRock

Yeah, I would have gotten sexier RAM, but I was concerned about how big the EVO was, if I would have clearance. Especially since I wasn't sure what motherboard I was getting. So, I went with the low profile mainly generic stuff with the patriot viper. Maybe I'll switch it out in a few months if I find another awesome deal.

It actually, looks like that G-Skill Ram isn't that tall. I might see if the vendor will take the Patriot Ram off my order and order the G-Skill instead. Looks like the promotion is lasting until the 28th, so I'll check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.

Love the AsRock suggestions. The z87 Pro3 looks like a solid option for the price. If we were going to go up closer to the $200 range. Is there another option you could suggest that would go well with this build?

Right on par with what I thought. Thanks for your help. I'm pretty new at this stuff, so I wanted to reinforce my decisions.

I probably will go with your first recommendation as it makes a ton of sense to sell it in a few years and update everything. I'll check out the other two boards and see what I gain from them and decide if it's worth the extra dough.

Thanks again for your help. Exactly what I needed.
