PC-3 8500 and PC-3 10600 compatibilty

Hi,
I am having a Sony VAIO with pc3-8500 3 GB RAM. I got a new 4gb PC3-10600 to replace in one of the slots. My system now giving BSOD on startups. Is this a compatibitly issue. Laptop model is: Sony VAIO VPCEB24EN

Yes it CAN be incompatibility issue, try with only 4GB ram that you bought

I tried that too..the system is not starting at all in that case.
Both are DDR3 Rams(in my laptop and the new one)

I have 2 old sticks 1GB(Hynix PC3-8500, 1066Mhz) and 2 GB(Adata PC3-8500, 1066Mhz). The new one is single only. I tried all combinations but for no use

I have already bought this 4GB RAM stick. Is there any other way than checking with a new 8gb kit? As with the previous RAM config it is working fine.

According to SNOY's website your laptop supports memory frequency up to 1066Mhz and your new RAM is 1333Mhz http://www.sony.co.in/product/vpceb24en/specs look memory bus

Is there any way i can reduce the frequency of it.. i see no option in BIOS for this

Desktop RAM usually downgrades by itself so i don't now how to reduce it in laptop
