Hey guys, I upgraded my processor/mobo/ram last week while I left my 2GB 6950 alone. I was first thinking of getting another 6950 and use it in crossfire but I have now changed my mind since I can't find a new one, might as well sell it and buy a new gpu.

My main aim would be to run The Witcher 3 and Dragon Age 3 Inquisition at max settings at 1080p resolution with atleast 2x MSAA (if supported by engine). I am thinking of getting a GTX 770 4GB card, I think that card would be enough for DA3 but do you think it will also be enough for Witcher 3? I know the game isn't released yet and we haven't seen official requirements either but looking at current games requirements we can get a rough idea. I know Witcher 2 was and still is pretty demanding so Witcher 3 might continue that tradition.

I want to upgrade my XFX 6950 because Its bottlenecking my new i7 4770k and 16GB dominator but on the other hand the games that I mostly play are running just fine with my gpu for the time being. Some games like shogun 2/rome 2 demands a bit tweaking rest I can usually play at max settings.

At the end of the day what do you suggest, Upgrade now or wait and play safe until cdprojekt red announce official game requirements? Also is NVidia/ati going to release newer series anytime soon that is worth waiting or Nvidia 700 series is fine for 2014?

Buying now for a game seems like quite an unintelligent move when you have no idea of the requirements.

With Maxwell GPU architecture being most likely released before Witcher 3 is released and the fact that as time passes, prices drop, just wait until you have a better image of what you will be requiring and you most likely will be able to save yourself a bit of money in the process.

Your 6950 is currently dated but what sounds like a passion for rpg games, wait until you know more so you won't be gaming for over 100 hours on something which is only pumping 30 fps.

Yes I think I am going to wait until atleast we hear the official requirements for Witcher 3 before I decide about what I need.
Thanks both for replying.
