New build - High pitch noise from CPU area

Just built a new computer. Used a A6-6400k, 8 GB AMD ram, and a Gigabyte Motherboard, GTX 650 etc.

It is for use as a media center in my living room, so any noise is an issue. There is a high pitch squeal coming from the CPU area. I messed with the bios, turning off some setting I read could be the issue (searched the forum for the answer).

The sound continues. I tried touching each component, stopping the fans etc. Also unplugged the HD and video card to eliminate those.

I did get the sound to stop by stopping the CPU fan. Issue is though that it did not stop until one or 2 second AFTER the fan fully stopped. If it stopped immediately I could assume it was the fans movement causing the noise, but the fact that it stopped a second or 2 after the fan stopped has me stumped.

Thanks!

That is interesting. It could be your power supply or just a bad fan, try getting another fan for it (an 80mm should be able to screw on).

Ok, Ill try replacing the fan, just wasn't sure if that was it with how it took a second or two for the whine to stop. I think the stock fan is 70mm, should I be able to fit a 80mm one on the heatsink? Im new to this. Thanks ewok.
