Hello,
is this PSU: Fortron Black Power 550w OK?
http://www.alza.cz/EN/fortron-black-power-550w-d126408....

I've been running i5 4570S @ 3.6GHz and 7950 @1100/1575 without issues, but I'll be upgrading to R9 280X soon, so just checking if it's fine.

I also have a GREAT price for R9 280X Sapphire Dual-X, $298 + no shipping costs whatsoever.
What do you think, is it fine?

Since you are not oc'ing, it may work, although a 600W PSU is recommended for a R9 280X GPU.

Whatever you decide, however, I would stick with quality top tier PSU brands such as Seasonic, XFX, Corsair (EXCEPT their CX series) or Antec.

edit: I guess Fortran is not that bad a name according to here:

The Rosewill Hive 650W is a good 650W one, while the OCZ Fatal1ty 550W is a good 550W one. Cheers!

Edit: Yes, 550W is enough, but I'd suggest a 600-650W PSU (price difference is small).

Oh, I actually already have that PSU and don't prefer to replace it. It's like another $100 I can barely afford.

No problem, dude! This PSU you have is definitely not bad and will hold the 280X fine. Buy the GPU you wanted and be happy!

I also checked the site you posted and it seems that the sale of that PSU is over. Are you in Czech Republic?

Yes. I was born here!
Hopefully my English is not too bad :D .

I'm glad that PSU will be OK.
What if, just in theory - that PSU ran r9 280X for another year or two? Will it still be fine?
Thanks for answering!

Hey mate, I just got that card, ran some tests 1150/1550 @1.218V and PSU doesn't even run hot!
Hopefully this helps to alot of people dealing with the same problem. It's fine, any 'high quality' 550W can take this card on.
