Recently Video and Audio started skipping

I just recently upgraded from an FX 6100 6 core to an FX 8350 and since then, my audio and video both do this... lag, skip, I'm not sure what to call it. If I watch Netflix or Amazon Instant Video, every 10 seconds to 3 minutes (it really varies) I will get this issue where it almost is reminiscent of a DVD or CD with a scratch- the audio will stutter for a brief moment and the Video will either pause or repeat the same millisecond of video for the same timeframe. When listening to Spotify or iTunes (both streaming and local) it does the same for audio. I have run the sfc /checknow command and gotten no answers, and have tried both updating and rolling back drivers. I am wondering if this could be related to the new CPU itself or if something else is going on.

Full system specs:
Asus M5A97 LE R2.0
AMD FX 8350 8 core, stock cooler, no OC
EVGA 02G-P4-3651-KR GTX 650Ti 2GB 128Bit video card
WD10EZEX 1TB drive (2 partitions, one for system one for data because i'm weird like that
Samsung 830 128GB SSD (mostly for Steam but a few other oft-accessed things)
4x4GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X-Series DDR3 1600 RAM
Corsair AXi 760i PSU

Any help or direction here would be much appreciated.

Try to run this latency test. If you have too high of latency that might be causing the problem. http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml. Follow the instructions in the link and report back the results. This happened to my friend, and the when he disabled the network drivers in DevMg the spikes stopped. And ok...

There may be many things causing this. But first, you should check that all your drivers are up to date for video audio etc. Also, go into task manager and check if any programs or processes are taking up too much of your cpu. This may be the problem. Additionally, malware and viruses could be causing this issue. Use your antivirus and do a full scan of your computer. If the problem is only occurring when you are watching videos on the internet, then you should check your internet stuff. Restart your computer and your router, sometimes that does the trick.

Checked on the CPU in task manager and it give a small (<20%) spike when the issue occurs, but nothing jumps to the top of the list of CPU users when that happens. Drivers are all up to date and i'm scanning my PC for viruses etc now. It's not only videos and not all of them are internet based though, some of it happens with local files. Even so, my PS3, laptop, and wife's laptop all work just fine, it's only my PC.

Well, one of two things fixed it. I installed AVG's PC tune-up software and ran it, and that cleaned up my registry and temp files and browser junk among other things. I also changed the case lead to my motherboard that said HD Audio to the one that says AC97 just to see what would happen.

As of a half hour ago the issue is resolved. We'll see if that is permanent or not.

Well as of my last post I have not seen the error reoccur, so I have to assume it got fixed by the AVG thing or moving the lead to a different connector.

Either way, For now, this topic is basically solved, but I will reopen it if it comes back. Thanks!
