3 way SLI corruption question

Hey guys, long time reader but first time poster.

I am looking to go 3 way sli in an older system. It is currently running in SLI with 2 8800gtx cards and working great.

When searching for a card for number 3 I found one for $20 but it has corruption on screen. I am wondering if that will show through if the card is in a slave position within the setup?

If the $20 bad card doesn't work properly by itself, then it isn't going to work properly in SLI.

Thanks, that's what I wanted to know. I thought maybe the output was the problem and the overall ability of the card would be intact.

If the only problem with the bad card was a single bad port (but it had other output ports working) then it would probably be fine. But "corruption on screen" with an older used video card is most likely something other than a single bad port. Not worth it imho to 'take a chance' on that card.

Thanks. I appreciate your time. The seller has indicated that the problem persists on both DVI ports.
