Was recommended a build by a friend and he suggest MSI, all the parts except the card are now ordered and on they way. However the MSI card he suggested seems to be sold out everywhere.

Which card is the best so I can start looking around? Gaming PC / Mining on the side

Plan on putting a 2nd one of whatever I get at a later time as well.

This is the build - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2Sz04

My suggestions is leave r9 290x and go for GTX 780 Ti. Price is little bit higher than R9 but it does really worth it for performance.
Best is to go with EVGA with reference cooler and then with Asus's.
Edit: Those reference coolers are for gtx 780ti not R9 290X :D

You do not want to get a 290x with a reference cooler, they run hot to the point they throttle, and they are loud. And for what the cards with a non-reference cooler costs you can get a faster 780Ti.

Dont really know the difference, not worried about it being loud.

Also will be mining when I am asleep so I'd like to stick to Radeon

If you really want a 290x then get the Sapphire or Asus with their custom cooler.

i wouldn't go with Asus and Gigabyte version, due to high heat production. Although Sapphire will be good, but i still think you should be going with gtx 780ti of Nvidia.

Your stuck with what you want to do, you want to mine which requires and AMD card but then you want to game. There's no favorable after market coolers for the R9 290X so you're gonna have to deal with throttling due to overheating which ruins your mining speed. During gaming aswell your gonna experience throttling, so if you want to game more than mine get a GTX 780ti and forget mining all togethor and build a dedicated mining computer. Otherwise just get the Sapphire R9 290x

I've purchased the Powercolor r9 290 PCS+ (3 fans) http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/Other+products/Powe...

Haven't seen any bad reviews, I'm still waiting for my parts to come, if you can hold out a few days I can do a video on performance and noise level.

anyway good luck with your new components, and i hope you make the best out of them ;)
