I have been wondering if i should buy some more ram for my computer because it is well used when i game.

I have 8 gig, and i will take BF4 for an example.

When i play i minimized my game and went to taskmanager, and saw that i was using 6 -
6,5 gig. The game also freezes sometimes, and i thought it might had to do with the ram usage. Please help.

Yea i tried that, but the only thing that i can see uses alot of memory is Nvidia, and i dont think i want to close those applications since it would probably mess up my computer until i turn it on again :)

If nVidia uses much RAM try to install the latest drivers and if you have already installed try to make Clean install

Dear,

8GB is plenty for your gaming requirements. GTX 680 with 2GB is also good enough for modern gaming. This freezing is due to either bad installation of BF4 or driver issue.

Pl don't buy more RAM. RAM is ok. To be more sure run memtest86 on it and share your CPU-Z reading on it. Which brand of GTX 680 you are using?

70c is ok under load, though you need to keep a check on this temp

Is there another program for the stress test you can recommend?

Memtest86+ is a good one. Run Orthos or twin instances of PRIME95 under windows for this purpose. You may also use HCI and prime blend

Im using a single 8 GB DIMM DDR3 ram, if that is what you mean.
The DRAM frequency is 781.1 MHz

Do you have your DRAM set under XMP, right now it;s showing as 1562.2, if a 1600 stick it's under spec, make sure you have the latest BIOS , that XMP is enabled and Profile 1 selected, then check the DRAM timings and ensure they match the sticks specs
