Hi!

I'm looking to buy a new laptop now, however - I'm having a tough job finding just the right one. Therefor I came here to ask, I really need help.

I have a few requirements for it:

-Min 1TB storage
-Min 8GB RAM
-Hardware Virtualization enabled processor
-Good for programming and game creation, app creation, etc
-Can run Microsoft Flight Simulator X with PMDG aircrafts (real planes) well without any lag and with several addons (so a powerful GPU).
-Tight design, about 16-17" or in that area and with a slim design. It doesn't have to be macbook air slimness, but not fatish, big and bulky.
-Preferably win 7, but 8/8.1 will do
-Stability

And the big thing; not more than 1.9K dollars, about 11,5K Norwegian kronors.

Please help me, I just cannot find the right one!

Super kind regards,
Erik

I just bought a Cyberpower 17 inch laptop with an Intel i7 4700MQ, GTX 770M, and a 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD and Win 7. FSX runs beautifully, though I do not have any PMDG aircraft. I'm still experimenting with the sliders; some are maxed while others are almost so. The settings are based on my needs and preferences. If I had my druthers, I'd have the GTX 780M, but I can upgrade with no problem should I wish to in the future.

Note, the Cyberpower is not slim and trim, but the performance is what counts.

that sounds like a good option; how much is it? I need to buy it somewhere in/or shipping to Norway

I paid ~$1350 USD, but I don't know if Cyberpower ships to Norway. Certainly the price would go up.

What I would suggest is to see what laptops are readily available in Norway. Just make sure you buy, at a minimum, an Intel i7 4700MQ and a GTX 770M. If you can afford it, consider an Intel i7 4800MQ for ~ $200 USD. I have a 7200 RPM HDD, but an SSD would load FSX much faster though not actually run better. MSI, from what I've read makes a great laptop and priced around what I paid. I have the 17 inch screen, but the CPU and GPU can be had in a 15.6 inch laptop, too. FS9 runs OK on my wife's 15" Acer, so if portability is important, you might consider that size, too. I just move my laptop from room to room and out on our balcony.

Good luck on your quest! I'm happy to offer what advice I can. I've been messing with Flight Sim since the old Commodore days. My favorite is FS9 and I generally devote equal time to both versions.
