I installed this cooler on my M5A97 motherboard successfully but I had to sacrifice dual channel, my RAM is now right beside each other, furthest away from the CPU. Everything works. No problems.

My question is can I change the orientation? Right now the air is going upwards( fan and heatsink lying flat, can I rotate it and make the air go towards the rear exhaust so I can get my dual channel back? So I can upgrade my RAM later on? My Ram has heat sink fans so they're not really low profile to fit underneath the heat sink.

The cooler came with these brackets and standoffs and I'm sure those are for intel only, but the way the pictures show on the instructions, it shows the orientation I want, with the AMD so I'm not totally sure.

Hope these pictures help.

A rear facing orientation is equally efficient.
I would change to that.
It will have the added advantage that the fan can be slid up a bit on the cooler to clear taller ram heat spreaders.

Ram needs no special cooling.
You can remove the heat spreaders entirely if you want.

This is what's written on CoolerMaster website (in Hyper T4 section, at the end of the Overview section: "Most modern AMD motherboards have stock brackets that would orient Hyper T4 in a vertical airflow configuration. We recommend fan placement that would blow air out the top of a standard case."
