Hi,

After installing updates today I've been unable to use any USB connected peripherals. The only way I can control my PC is using TeamViewer.

I know there was an affected Win 7 Update that caused USB issues, I have checked my system and the affected KB is not installed. If I remove the Intel 7 Series/ C216 Chipset Family USB Enhanced Host Controller - 1E26 and reboot then I am able to use my Wireless Mouse and Keyboard for a few seconds before the Driver is installed.

Any ideas on what I can do? I have no recent System Restore points I can revert too.

Cheers,
TG

The natural recommendation is to do a system restore to a state prior to the update. (I think Windows will make a restore state before major updates automatically).

Edit: Sorry, I skimmed- should have noted: "I have no recent System Restore points I can revert too. "

Try uninstalling any drivers related to your wireless keyboard and mouse, and the chipset. Then reboot and reinstall them one at a time using the latest version you can find (try to download the latest drivers if you can).

Cheers for the answers, managed to solve the problem by uninstalling a MotionJoy Driver and everything seemed to work.
FYI: Mouse and keyboard were connected via a wireless bluetooth Dongle plugged into a USB 2.0 Port. Neither would work in safe mode but would work in BIOS. BIOS and drivers are all the latest, so not quite sure why it stopped working.
