Watched a video on youtube about over clocking with AMD Overdrive, and decided to give it a go.

In Overdrive, I changed my cpu (AMD FX-6300) from 3.5ghz to 4.0ghz, and brought the voltage up to 1.312v (not sure what the voltage was originally at).

Now, I saved these settings as preset, and I checked the box that said something about an option to save settings "on next boot up". Then I restarted my computer to make sure the changes took effect.

Now my computer won't even start up. Goes to the "starting windows" screen, then just shuts down and reboots and goes into recovery mode. I've tried every option of recovering, but when it has to restart the computer for the recovery options to talk effect, it just goes back to "starting windows" then shuts down again.

Also tried uninstalling AMD Overdrive with command prompt in the recovery menu, but kept coming up with an invalid error.

And yes, I'm an overclock noobie, so i don't really know how to work this shit. :(

Help would be appreciated.

Reset your BIOS to get back to the stock settings. Depending on motherboard there may be a clear CMOS button, clear CMOS jumper, or you pull the power from the PC and remove the battery for a few minutes. This should get you going. You can also go into your BIOS, since the PC boots up to that point, and reset everything to defaults in the BIOS.

Next, don't go 500mhz at a time. Overclocking is about going small notch by notch to get a faster speed and testing in between.
