i can't install Windows Vista on my new hardrive.

I bought a new hardrive and it says that Windows Vista is not compatible with new hardware. Not sure what to do?

What said that? The Vista installer? Is it an OEM disk from the PC vendor? Some of them are locked to specific hardware and do a check for the right hard drive.

Yay it's the CD that came with the computer. Can I get one that will work anywhere?

It will install Windows then when it's done it says not compatible with this hardware. Then it uninstall Windows? It a Seagate 1 th hard drive. I can clone it and it works. But I wanted a clean install as I have same problem of corrupted master file table.
