Hello,
Recently, I got a new PSU and GPU, NZXT HALE82 N 550W and XFX 7870 to be exact. After wiring together everything, I went for the power switch and nothing worked! I searched everywhere and even tried the old setup, but still, nothing worked. I know that the new PSU is not faulty as I have tested it and it worked fine. I have tried everything from onboard graphics to trying to only connect the MOBO and video card. I have no idea what to do. If you need me to elaborate please tell me as I am in a rush right now. Thank you.

make sure you plugged in the top motherboard power connector, as well as proper gpu power. also of course hard drives need to be plugged into power and so on.

Hello, yes thank you for checking with this. However, I have read countless tutorials and checks for this. Let me tell what I have checked so far.

-Connections = working - I have triple checked every connection multiple times when trying to figure out the problem. Every connector fits and is correctly in place.

-PSU = working - shorted the 24-pin connector and the PSU started up fine.

-GPU = presumably working - I see no damage done to it and I have tried booting up with and without the GPU, both options resulted in nothing.

-Power button = working - I used a multimeter to verify that the connection from the power button to the MOBO was working, and it was.

-Front panel / panel_1 / MOBO = This is where the problem comes in. Just yesterday I tested the front panel and tried to short out the "pwrbtn" pins on the MOBO using a screwdriver. However, the computer did not boot and no sign of life from the MOBO, no lights or sounds.

Seeing that every other component is working fine, I guess my MOBO got damaged some how when I was plugging in the new pin connectors. Is there any way to verify that it is dead? If so, will I need to move my current CPU to my new MOBO when I get one? Also, I have an OEM machine, so will switching the MOBO make my license invalid?

Thank you,
