I currently live in an apartment with a roommate. As much as I'd love to just bring an Ethernet cable from my living room to where my pc is now I just cant, in order for it too look nice it had to use wall stables, drill holes etc, anyway, so I HATE gaming on wifi, I came from living with my mom, who had FIOS and I was direct connected and god did I love that. To gaming on wifi. I purchased a router to reach where im at now fine, signal isnt an issue its just reliability and stability, so I really want to try the next possible thing, and that powerline. This is my current router:

http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-WDR4300-Wireless-Gigabit-300Mbps/dp/B0088CJT4U

and this is the powerline kit I want to purchase:

Really my question is, should this pretty much be more reliable and stable than my wireless?

Powerline works great most of the time, and should be better than the wireless setup you've tried. However, everyones wiring is different, and you won't know for sure how well it works in your apartment until you try it.

The model you've picked will probably work fine. I had an issue with the first adaper I tried so I upgraded to a newer model with AV2 certification, and it has worked perfectly.

In general powerline tends to be more stable than wireless because it is less susceptible to interference. It still can get interference because it is still a radio signal just sent over wire rather than air. The simpler the path you have through the electrical wires the better the devices work. Be sure to plug directly into the wall outlets, no power strips or extension cords.

Like wireless these things just refuse to work in some houses so make sure there is a return policy where you buy them. Also be aware you will get nowhere close to that magic 500m. Most people get well under 100m. Besides they kinda admit that putting only 100m port on the device.
