need to make a gateway Model M6888 vista recovery CD to set my laptop back to factory settings?

Yes thank you I have tried to do the recovery but i believe it might be corrupt cause it will not let me... I follow the manufacturer's instructions and the path doesn't take me to a recovery... :( My laptop didn't come with anything cause it was all suppose to be in the computer. The manufacturer doesn't have support for my laptop any longer either. :( I use to always a back up and restore, but then one day my computer at finish said it wasn't successful... I didn't think much of it and within a couple months it doesn't really run properly. So I thought I'd do a factory reset... but I can't cause the path I take to do it... doesn't let me ... as well as I need to get a restore cd. I hope I am making sense?
