i have heard that the i5 3570k is going to be shit when next gen comes because of 4 cores and not 8 like 8350 i just bought the i53570k and overclocked it to 4.0ghz i have another question is my pc ready for next gen on ultra/high at 1080p
my build -i5 3570k 4.0ghz 12 gigs of 1600mhz ram and a gtx 780

NO! Your 3570k will still be a very strong cpu for years now. In fact, you will need to replace your 780 before you'll need to replace your i5.

Holy cow man, your 3570k trumps the 8350. If by next gen you mean next generation consoles, then don't worry about it. The PC is the real next gen system. Consoles are old and busted before they even launch.
