I've purchased a 2 day old Samsung 128MB 840 SSD from a friend.... i tried benchmarking it and found out it's write speed is way slower compared to my other SSD drives , Adata seems a bit slower since it's my Windows Disk

here are the bench using Crystaldisk

Adata SP900
Sequential Read : 263.859 MB/s
Sequential Write : 177.921 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 233.598 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 177.019 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 18.690 MB/s [ 4563.1 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 64.751 MB/s [ 15808.4 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 84.764 MB/s [ 20694.4 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 173.883 MB/s [ 42452.0 IOPS]

Samsung 840
Sequential Read : 517.219 MB/s
Sequential Write : 136.409 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 445.348 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 135.592 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 25.884 MB/s [ 6319.3 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 61.569 MB/s [ 15031.6 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 265.348 MB/s [ 64782.2 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 135.704 MB/s [ 33130.9 IOPS]

Corsar Force LS
Sequential Read : 523.590 MB/s
Sequential Write : 205.603 MB/s
Random Read 512KB : 320.761 MB/s
Random Write 512KB : 205.637 MB/s
Random Read 4KB (QD=1) : 21.641 MB/s [ 5283.5 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 61.911 MB/s [ 15115.0 IOPS]
Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 150.175 MB/s [ 36663.8 IOPS]
Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 193.263 MB/s [ 47183.4 IOPS]

the Samsung Magician results seems a lot worse than Crystaldisk's result

The key numbers are the 4k random read/write numbers at QD=1.
That is what the OS does 90% of the time.

Do not be much swayed by vendor synthetic SSD benchmarks.
They are done with apps that push the SSD to it's maximum using queue lengths of 30 or so.
Most desktop users will do one or two things at a time, so they will see queue lengths of one or two.

In particular, look at the read numbers.

Actually, I think the EVO is generally outperforming both of your other drives.

Are the drives all the same capacity? In general, larger drives will perform a bit better.

Yup all the same capacity 120gb...

seems that the Samsung is outperforming the others on Read... and slows down at Write ?

The good thing is that usually much more is read then written :)
