I don't know much about OC but I really would love to OC my computer. Lets put prices aside for now

Specs:
i7 4770K @ 3.5GHZ Stock Cooler
8GB Ballistix RAM
ASRock Pro 4 Mother Board
EVGA GTX 770
Corsair CX 600M

I would like to OC my computer over 4.0+. I'm not sure if my MB will handle it or how much my MB can handle etc, (I'm a noob) I'm trying to get as much knowledge thanks! What type of cooler would be best for OC with this build.

Solution

As long as you have good enough airflow into the case, yes, it'll do the job just fine. As for the connector, don't fret as the H100i uses a special SATA power connection, rather than the old Molex ones and if you don't have a spare SATA, you can pick up a 6 pin to SATA convertor cable that'll do the job :)
Hi there!

Looking at your specs I can safely say you should be quite capable of hitting the 4.5GHz barrier with that chip on that motherboard (I have a pro 3 myself) but you will want to invest in an aftermarket cooler as the stock cooler is about as much use for overclocking as a lump of coal would be. The Thermaltake NIC C5 should do you just fine and isn't too expensive, unless you want to go with an all-in-one water cooler in which case I'd go for either a Kraken X60 or a Corsair H100i.

would the H100i require a lot of PSU?

Not at all, no. It consumes around 8-10 watts so you won't have any issues. The only thing you need to be certain of before ordering is that it will fit in your case.

I have a Corsair 300r with a EVGA GTX 770. Where exactly would a H100i go?

You can fit one in the roof but not with a push-pull configuration.

It'll do the job correct? I also don''t have any direct slots left on my corsair CX600M but there's some that hang out like the power cord for my GTX 770
