I recently bought a Samsung laptop (NP300E5C-A06US) and absolutely hated Windows 8 so I thought I would downgrade to Windows 7 to make my life a little easier. I have installed all necessary drivers, or at least I think I have. WLAN, chipset, touchpad, HECI, Intel Rapid Storage, and LAN. I don't need the bluetooth or camera drivers seeing as I do not use any of those. Now my laptop runs like a dream w/ Win 7 but I cant help but miss certain features like being able to use the FN key along with the function keys to adjust brightness, volume and screen output. It also seems that I cannot adjust screen brightness at all, I am sure there is software out there that I can install to adjust this but I was wondering if there was a way for me to get out of factory full functionality out of my machine without having to restore to Win 8 or buying a Win 7 laptop. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, Thank you!

I suspect you are missing the necessary driver.
See if it there are any w8 drivers available that did not have an equivalent W7 driver and try to install that.
