Strange Issues with USB and BIOS

I've been having a lot of problems with my USB ports on my computer lately. Here are my specs:
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS P9x79 PRO
CPU: i7 3930k
GPU: EVGA GTX 680
KEYBOARD: Corsair K70
MOUSE: Razor Deathadder

So i originally used the Asus AISuite II to do a software overclock on my processor and I was getting some high temps, so I decided to jump into my BIOS and reset the settings back to default and start fresh and basically undo my overclock.

That's when my problems started. A few days passed and I noticed my GPU was getting really hot, so I wanted to jump into my BIOS to check my case fans. When I restarted - I mashed Del and F2 but my computer wouldn't go to the BIOS screen.

Steps I tried to resolve the problem:

1. Tried different USB ports on the back of the computer. (Both USB 2 and USB 3)
2. Reset the CMOS by pushing the CMOS reset button on my motherboard. (Not sure if I did this correctly. My computer was plugged in and the power was on, but not booted up when I pressed the CMOS button.)
3. Finally got the keyboard to be recognized in POST by plugging both USB cables into the FRONT USB ports. (Both USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports work). This isn't ideal though - I'd like to have my keyboard and mouse work in the BIOS when plugged into the back USB ports.
4. Once I got into the BIOS I verified that Legacy USB support was ENABLED for both USB 2 and USB 3.
5. I ran a Malwarebytes and it was clean, so I decided to run a full Microsoft Security Essentials scan, which was going to take several hours, and in that time, my computer when into hibernation. Several hours later, when I came back to wake it up - I would hit keys on the keyboard and they would briefly light up but neither my keyboard nor my mouse would wake the computer up.
6. Verified in the power management options that both my keyboard and mouse are set to "Allow this device to wake computer up"

Can anyone figure out why my keyboard would only work during POST when plugged into the front USB ports and not the back ones? I'm worried this is indicative of LARGER problems with my USB ports.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I should also mention that I've heard disconnecting my front panel card reader, which also has my front USB ports connected to it (NZXT Switch 810 case) could solve the problem - but I have no idea why this is now just occurring. My computer used to detect the keyboard during POST just fine.
