Cliffs:

-Got $1600
-Already have Xbox one for gaming
-Need laptop for school + minor gaming (LOL, DOTA, Diablo 3)
-looking at Alienware m14 because of power and aesthetic look.

I know I am going to get hate but hear me out. I was recently given $1600 from my father as a end of school present and I am interested in buying a computer system. However for Christmas I received an XBOX ONE from my parents. So in need of a new computer system which I can play gams such as DOTA, LOL, DIABLO 3 I have been looking a the Alienware 14x purely because of its aesthetics and performance. Yes I am aware of other gaming laptops such as Lenovo, razor etc but they don't cut it aesthetically for me and I'm big on that.

So the question remains:

Do you guys support my decision to run the basic gams like dota Diablo 3 and lol high settings on m14 Alienware and stick for real gaming with the Xbox one?

Solution
Eh, as disrespectful as it may be, or as you feel it may be.

You could easily let them know that your XBOX One gaming days are in no way over, seeing as the XBOX One has titles that other OS realms do not.

If you also explained it was best for your money and such to build a PC then that would be cool also. (I'd hope.)

Heck! You could even turn this into your family/friends all sitting and watching the birth of a PC :D

As for mobile cards and such I have no clue what they can do, always been a desktop guy, only had one laptop and it was a AWESOME Toshiba Satellite that played Battlefield 3 on Ultra high at 60+ FPS with a few video tweaks.

So I'm sure the Alienware would manage, I'd wait for someone more knowledgeable about laptops...

I have a car and college fund taken care of, however since my parents bought me an Xbox one for Christmas I think it would be disrespectiful and stupid to build a gaming pc and game on that instead. When I move out I will build a gaming pc but as of now I think an alienware 14x is suitable do you agree?

Please do remember that if you can overcome your extreme desire for that alienware-box there are a lot of better alternative for that money out there. Also, for games like that you don't need a 1500 dollar laptop! Looks seem nice in beginning but in the end you should imagine having a stack of 1600 dollar in one hand and an overpriced laptop in the other.
