Will the AMD FX 8-Core Black Edition FX-8350 (FD8350FRHKBOX) work with the ASRock 970 Extreme3?

They're both using the AM3+ socket but PC part picker tells me there are possible compatibility issues and I can't think what that could be. Any ideas?

Also, has anybody used this CPU with the latest games that are coming under the title "next gen" i.e. BF4 etc.

You will need to update the bios to make it work:
"Some AMD 970 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Vishera CPUs." This detail is listed on the bottom when you make this configuration. I cannot deny or verify the accuracy of this but this is one possibility.
