Corsair H80i or H100i for Coolermaster 690 III case ?

This case is superpopular so many own it. In the case where you don't have low profile memory and all 8 slots of a rampage IV motherboard are filled, which of the mentioned CPU cooling options are then available because I assume which ever you choose would have to be mounted on top inside the case instead of at top-rear where the default case fan is. The H80i with fans will most likely be thick enough to interfere with the ram modules in both mounting options. the H100i is thinner so might do it on top without interfering with the motherboard.


anyone have experience with this particular combination ? I'm looking to hear which mounting combinations/options will work out in this particular combination (especially with the high profile 8 filled RAM banks)

The h100i would most likely interfere with your ram and top heat sink on the motherboard when the fans are mounted although the h80i can be mounter on the rear exuast spot and should not interfere with the motherboard.

It doesn't. The case is designed for it apparently. a H80i cannot be mounted top rear nor on top because it's too thick in both cases. But a H100i is thinner and can just be mounted up top with 4mm space left. Alternatively you can start removing drivecages and mount either radiators up front but that's really a fail option if you ask me personally. Here's my build's result with the H100i. Just got it finished:

Did you get the h100i mounted successfully? and yea i woundt reccomend mounting it in the spots of the hdd's just dosent look correct.

You can see for yourself in the second picture i posted. 2 fans above the motherboard and the radiator on top of that, all still within the case and nointerference of components

Perfect nicely done. Yea I have the same cooler h100i and I am very pleased with it.
