I'm running:
Windows 64bit
Power- 750 watt box (can't remember the make or name sorry!)
CPU- i5 2500k @ 3.3ghz
RAM- 8GB Ram DDR3
MB - ASUSTeK Computer INC. P8Z68-V LX (LGA1155)
GPU - Intel HD Graphics 3000

I've managed to get it to run currently but I almost blow the CPU... Hence the need for a GPU. Can anybody recommend a GPU for this machine? I don't want to blow the bank only really have about £250 for this.

Any particular one I should go for between the two? I noticed one had a higher lock speed than the other but less ram?

VRAM is not that much of a difference unless you are gaming above 1920 x 1080p

2gb of VRAM is usually enough.

Depends. You could go for r9 270x and save some cash.

Future proofing could go to r9 280x.

Both will play games at 1920 x 1080p. But if you're into heavy games like Crysis 3 and Metro 2033 would be better to go for r9 280x.
