USB 3.0 slots not reading devices

I have went to device manager and my Etron USB 3.0 Extensible Root Hub and Host controller are both up to date. mY computer knows I have 2 USB 3.0 drives. Yet they wont read anythign I plug into them. Other USB slots work fine.

If it's only the USB 3.0 ports not working (the blue ones with the "SS" or lightning bolts next to them) it may be that you haven't installed the correct USB 3.0 drivers.

check the disk management program, and see if you need to add drive letters. Make sure the drives are showing up in Device Manager, too.

Try going to the manufacturer's website and see if they have any new drivers or support tools. Windows doesn't always find the latest driver.

That's what happened to me and I went to MOBO site and re-installed the USB 3.0 controller. Worked for me.

Ok, so i found something out. Drivers were not the problem sorry. The USB 3.0 slot does work, just not with any 3.0 devices. They do read 2.0 devices. Also My 3.0 devices do work in the 2.0 slots!! Why are my 3.0 items working together?!

That is a driver problem. Either that or the ports have been set to 2.0 mode in BIOS.
