I have a $3500 budget for a new PC for my son. We want to build it together. Reliability, fast, quiet and somewhat future proofed for a few years key. Will want to play a bit with basic over clocking. Will also burn blue ray.

The MOBO and RAM are good too, everything is compatible and high quality. Honestly, mouse and keyboard come down to preference. It pretty much comes down to the features you want. Backlit lights, programmable hotkeys, LCD Displays etc.

If you're going to get into overclocking, you might as well try out some custom loop water cooling. It could be fun to learn with your son and put that side window on the case to use, making your system look very nice inside.
