GTX 760+9400GT: can I use both of them at the same time?

Hello

I'm preparing to get a new little gaming PC, with Asus Z87-A, i5 4670k, Asus GTX760 etc. and I have a question: can I use my old Gigabyte nVidia 9400GT (1Gb DDR2) with the GTX 760 to record gameplays, like a recording card, in order to do not overload the 760? Or is this stupid/unnecessary? Thanks for helping me!

Do not use both, you will gain absolutely no benefit from having the older card in the system, and it may in fact slow it down.

you CAN use it as the physx processor, but the 9400 is so much slower that it won't be able to handle it well enough to give any benefit over having the 760 do everything (will actually perform worse than just using the 760)

Ok, thank you! In order to not open another post: may I have to wait for the (hypothetical) 860 or I should get the 760? I was quite convinced of getting it, but now I'm thinking that the new series will be more powerful and efficient. I can wait for a max of 2 months... If the 8xx won't come out before of May, I think I'll have the 760... What do you suggest me? I was also thinking about a 770, to bridge the performance gap...

The new series will be more efficient, but don't expect it to be much more powerful. the 760 and 770 are both great cards. newer more powerful cards will not come out till after the summer or late summer
