Installing Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.00GHz, 4Mb Cache, 1333MHz FSB on Intel D945GCZ MB

Hi,
I purchased an Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 3.00GHz, 4Mb Cache, 1333MHz FSB for my Intel D945GCZ MB. Do I need to set anything on the BIOS before installing the new CPU?

This is my first brain transplant. Many thanks for the help.

    That won't work.

This one supports that Core 2 Duo. It has the Intel P35 chipset.
  2. Hi Calvin,
Is the issue the 800 mHz FSB?

    Thanks.

  3. Your motherboard has the Intel 945G Chipset, which is not a Core 2 chipset. The Intel 945GC and 945GZ chipsets are listed as Core2 chipsets.

Some Core 2 Duos work on the 945G motherboards, for example, the Gigabyte GA-945G-S3
