My parents computer died over the weekend. They don't game. I am looking to build a solid, fast system for what they do (so I never get calls that the computer is running slow), and have a $450 budget to work with. This is what I came up with....

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.aspx?ID=32390628

Everything I picked out seems to have good reviews on NewEgg. I went a bit pricy on the Hard Drive, so I could get the speed of an SSD, but still have 250GB (for pictures/vids of the grandkids, etc.). I figure the integrated graphics on the MoBo should be enough for what they do, so I see little need for a graphics card. I'm like $4 over budget, but that is no big deal. So if you have other suggestions, let me know. Just looking to get the eyeballs of a few experienced builders on this just to make sure I am not missing or overlooking anything.

Thanks all!

Looks nice. 250gb seems to be small, but if all they store is some fotos and office files its okay. If its too little they can always but a 1tb HDD for 60 or 70 bucks later, though doesnt sound like they will put a lot of stuff on the pc.

Thanks! I like the recommendation on the PSU since that one is modular. Should make cable managment much easier. I believe that change shall go in! As for the AMD suggestion, well, I am just an Intel guy and you know how that goes. No ones right or wrong in that arguement, but people prefer what they prefer :) Thanks for the suggestions!

Oh certainly. I do understand how it goes. My main build has a i5 2500k in it so by all means I'm a Intel guy. However, I do have a work computer with a APU and it works just fine and was quite a bit cheaper. Ended up building a work computer for about 200 dollars with a APU combo (CPU, MOBO, MEM, PSU, (spare HDD), put ubuntu on it and bam cheap work computer done. Modular PSU's are quite nice I agree with you I have a Corsair AX850 with individually sleeved cables and I love it.
