Hi, thanks for reading.
I have a gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 with 8gb adata 1333MHz memory. Everything works nice and smooth.
I just got 2x16gb samsung 1600MHz (Parts # M393B2G70BH0-CK0) but when I replug my computer I don´t even get the 'beep'. Just darkness and cold :'(
I tried putting a single 16gb, switching them, from first thru 4th slot, both connected, 1st and 3rd (as recommended by manufacturer) 2nd and 4th, every possible combination, and nothing.
Just after posting this am gonna try increasing the voltage thru UEFI-BIOS (if possible) and I hope that does it.
Still, hoping to get some enlightment.

More about : ram installation boot

Well, the answer is simple - 16GB modules do not work with your motherboard. Reason - Max per slot is 8GB and the max is 32GB with 4 slots. IMO, 16GB support isn't added for the motherboard as of yet.

Suggestion: Try updating the BIOS and installing it again. If not working then RMA it.

Keep us in the loop and good luck!! :hihi:

Besides they are server sticks, (Registered or ECC DRAM), if they were unbuffered or unregistered, the system might pick them up (or 8GB of each anyway)

OK, thank you both. Now I get how missunderstanding I can be sometimes, for I thought it didn't matter if it were 2x16 or 8x4 or 16+2x8 =32.
I thought it would be like the win7x32 issue for more than 3gb of RAM.
I will try to contact the guy who sold em to me (criagslisting here) and see if he can switch them for 8gigs (and not server ones).
Thanks again.
