Bought a Corsair Vengeance 4 Gb ( was not able to buy G skill ripjawsX ) , On the box and on the ram its written that it is 1600 Mhz but on some site its written like "1333 Mhz ( Specified ) , 1600 Mhz ( Test ) , what does this mean , I am a complete noob in these Mhz things and cannot find on which Mhz my RAM is currently running.

My Specs ( if needed ) : Fx 8120 , XFX 280x , Gigabyte 970a ud3

I just want to know on which Mhz my Ram is currently running on 1333 Mhz? or at 1600 Mhz , If its running at 1333 Mhz is there any way to change it to 1600?

Look at the above picture, I guess you are talking about Tested Speed and the SPD speed. The tested speed is what the manufacture tested it and rated it as safe and working in the factory, the SPD speed is thus "SPD is a memory hardware feature that makes it possible for the computer to know what memory is present, and what timings to use to access the memory", IMO SPD speed basically follows the JEDEC speed and timings while the tested speed tries go beyond that. SPD is a fail safe setting IMO.

Download CPU-Z (click it) to check the current speed. Go to "Memory" tab and check the DRAM frequency as shown in the below image. It should show 800Mhz if it is running in 1600MHz and it will show 667Mhz if it is the default speed (1333MHz).

You can change the speed in the BIOS if in case it is running with the default speed. Go to your BIOS > MB Intelligent Tweaker > Memory clock > Set to Manual and change the speed.

Hope that helps!! Cheers, mate :cheese:

Update:

P.S - If you are mixing higher speed memory with lower speed then DRAM frequency will show the lowest speed frequency so make sure you are not mixing different speeds.

Dear,
Your ram is at 1333. You can increase it using xmp profiling to 1600. By tested at 1600 means that ram has support for 1600 mhz but its stivk speed is 1333 mhz

Yup its showing 667 in D-ram frequency , To change it to 1600 I just have to go into Bios and change it there? or do i have to change the RAM timings ?

Don't change the RAM timings. Find the DRAM Frequency option in BIOS and change it to 800 or enabled XMP profile (The most easiest and safest way)

I just have to enable XMP profile or I have to enable XMP profile and change the Dram to 800? ,

Just enable XMP profile and nothing else.
