Hey guys - my first post :)

I just wanted to see what the community think about this build that i'm going to do. Its my first water cooled build that i'm doing for a friend.

Components:

i7 4770k - 4.6-4.8ghz
Corsair Vengeance pro 32gb 2133
Powercolor R9 290X LCS - X2
Silverstone 1200w G Strider
Corsair Air 540
Corsair SP120 + AF120
Bunch of White Cables
Asus Maximus VI Formula
Asus Xonar Essence XT
Akasa Fan controller
UV Lights - Phobya

Water Cooling Components:

AlphaCool XT45 Rads - 360mm and 240mm
Chrome Compressions and angled fittings
EK Supremacy Water Block
XSPC D5 Vario Pump and Res
XSPC Memory WaterBlock and Sideplates
EK-D5 Vario Pump and Res 140
Primochill Primoflex LRT UV Purple
Mayhems Biocide
Mayhems Ultra H20 - x2

I will do 2 loops - The Mosfet (VI Formula ThermoChill) and 2 GPU will be on the 360mm Rad and the RAM, CPU will be on the 240mm Rad. What do you guys think about this?

And also, can anyone recommend the best anti corrosive?

The rig itself.
It seems to me like you picked the most expensive stuff you could find, all that's missing is the Extreme Edition CPU. If this is just a gaming rig, you can stand to save a lot of money and get the same performance. The sound card is wasted unless he has already spent a fortune on an audio setup.
No case? I suggest the Phanteks Enthoo Primo, or if you want to continue the overkill theme, something from Mountain Mods or a CaseLabs M8.

The water-cooling
I think going for dual loops is unnecessary, it just increases the amount you have to spend for not that much performance difference.
If this is your first water-build, especially as its for a friend who isn't building this, keep it simple. I would even say if your building a rig for someone else, stay away from custom water unless you want to be their dedicated tech support for the lifetime of the rig. Your local computer shop isnt going to touch it and your friend has no clue (presumably) if your the one building it.
Watercooling RAM is also pretty pointless, it just doesn't get hot.

The components you picked are fine, though I wouldnt go for a 5.25" bay mounted pump. Very little room to pad it against vibrations, so it will be noisy.

I would ignore the motherboard's waterblock, the thing is made of anodized Aluminium, a metal you do not want in your water-loop as it poses a high risk of corrosion with Copper and Nickel.

Well the guy said he is happy with this. I was surprised when he picked out these components.

The case is a corsair carbide air 540. So rather than the included MOSFET, could you suggest any cheap MOSFET that I could water cool as I will be overclocking it quite high.

It will be a gaming/mining/video editing rig. And I wont be using a bay pump/res. This one is the normal one like a tube one.

Thanks dude

I think I'm gonna stick with this as he picked out components. Is there a good mosfet that you guys could suggest for the m'board?

I will be using the corsair carbide air 540 case and will have both pumps mounted at the back. They are not bay res/pumps but rather the tube res style. The ram I will be over clocking so I will need that extra boost.

He has done some sort of water cooling before so he knows a little bit on what he is doing but since I already make builds for other people, he thought why don't u do it.

Thanks dude. Now just need to find a nice MOSFET for the m'board.

the xspc ax240/360 rads are a fav of mine.

but as far as the fans go get the SP's. the AF's are for high air flow, not for static pressure like the SP's. the SP's work better for radiators.

and skip the 290x and just get a 780ti kingpin. with a 360 rad plus a ekwb block you can easily hit 1.8ghz for benchmarks and be 100% stable at 1.5-1.6ghz on that card and be faster than sli 680s/690.

Hmmm. Might do that instead actually.

See there is one thing that I am really worried about. Draining a system. Is there a guide on Herr that tells you what valve or fitting to use as a drain?

Thanks nikoli707

Just a quick question, will the Rads have enough surface area to cool 3 R9 290X, RAM, Mosfet, 4770k @ 4.5+ ghz?

Also, will G skill Trident 32gb 2400mhz RAM be better?

Hmmm thanks manofchalk but the aesthetics of the block look better than individual links and the block is also cheaper.

Is there a block such as the "EK FC Link Z77 Parallel 3 slot" which will work on my GPUs and also is compatible with the spacing on the VI FORMULA for Tri Crossfire?

Thanks a bunch dude.
