I'm looking to build my first gaming pc.
I'd initially like to play bf4 and skyrim with several mods at max settings at around 60fps.
This is what I came up with from my limited knowledge:
PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2ZaOy
Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2ZaOy/by_merchant/
Benchmarks: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2ZaOy/benchmarks/
CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($154.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($59.99 @ Microcenter)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($64.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.98 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($324.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: Cougar Solution (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($39.99 @ Mwave)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer ($16.98 @ OutletPC)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($84.98 @ OutletPC)
Total: $836.86
Would that last me several years without having to upgrade?
I've also read that most people feel that Intel is better for gaming. Would it be worth it to downgrade my video card so that I could afford a i5 4570 or something similar?
