Heatsink Reinstall Question

I have a Zalman CNPS9900MAX-B heatsink i use for my CPU cooler and I just bought a new motherboard and plan on installing the heatsink on this new motherboard but I already used the adhesive strips that came with the heatsink and so i was wondering if that will make it so I cannot reinstall it?

If you are talking about the thermal interface material then just buy new paste! One popular of many http://pcpartpicker.com/part/arctic-silver-thermal-paste-as535g just make sure you both clean cooler and CPU properly before applying.

No, not the thermal paste. I'm talking about the sticky adhesive strip that came with the heatsink that helps hold the backplate on the Motherboard. Do I still need that in order to reinstall the heatsink or am I going to have to buy a new one...?

It does not have to be glued on the screws will hold it in place!

Just remember they act as well as insulators so they will have to be in between it and the board.
