GTX 750 with a AMD A8 5600k ??????

I know I know.. its a APU and I dont need a APU with a onboard graphics card.. BUT this is what I have so thats how it is xD ... I ordered my GTX 750 yesterday and I just wanted to know if these 2 products will work good together.. Ive had the A8 for about 2 months with no problems.. any advice or info on this setup?? My MOBO is a FM2 Port which I KNOW.. is a dead end.. my biggest upgrade option would be the AMD A10 but the A8 has exceeded my expectations so far.

Current GPU- Geforce GT 520 / Future GPU (tomorrow) GTX 750
CPU- AMD A8
MEM- 6 gb DDR3 1333Mhz
OS- Win 7

some guy was telling me that since I have the AMD A8 that no matter what I do I wont get a FPS boost unless upgrading the APU to a CPU .. but I dont even use the APU for graphics lol... I think hes wrong but I just wanted a 2nd opinion
