Computer won't start, it get's stuck in an on and off loop. Probably not PSU problem though.

I recently got back home from a long trip and wanted to use my computer but it won't work.
When I try to start, the power shuts down before the boot screen and before any signal gets to the monitor. It then starts looping, turning the power on and then shuts down just as i start hearing the harddrives spin (approx after 1-3 seconds).

At first i though it was the PSU that had crashed but after installing a new one the problem still occurs. I've also tried unplugging everything except CPU and ram - and the problem still persist. I even unplugged the reset button in case it was stuck, but still no luck.

When i unplug the power cable and put it back in i sometimes get the computer to stay on (happens rarely though). But the monitor still get no signal (however all the fans are on and the power doesn't shut down), and no results from trying doing stuff to the graphic card (trying another slot for the cable, checking if it's in place etc).

Sometimes (1 time in 50) i get the computer to start and get signal to the screen, and it says that my overclocking didn't work. Problem is that i haven't overclocked the CPU nor the GPU. Putting the bios into safe mode doesn't make the starting up problem disappear. When I actually get the computer to work the next time it still comes up that the overclocking failed, even though i saved the "safe setup".

Last time I got the computer to work I pulled the motherboard towards me (don't know if it was that which got it working) so the back of the motherboard got more space from the case. Can tightening the screws too hard make the back of the motherboard short circuit against the computer case? Anyone know any other reasons for the computer to not work?

Sorry for my bad english, it is not my native language.

....oh, I almost forgot. I installed a new CPU cooler after i got the problem and checked the core temps and they are fine, so it's not a overheating problem.
