This started about two days ago, I would be playing a game, let's say World of Warcraft or Counter-Strike Global Offensive. After 5 minutes to an hour of playtime my computer monitor would go black and say "no signal," the thing is that my computer remains on and the only way to start it back up is to press the power button to turn it off and on again. Also, when my computer screen goes black my sound loops the last played sound for like 10 seconds and my keyboard works because when I press Caps Lock the light goes on and off.
Another thing is that I noticed recently that a fan from my computer gets really loud ONLY when playing games. The second I exit or alt-tab from the game the fan noise stops being loud. The sound is like a buzzing sound.
Things I have tried:
Uninstalling my GPU driver and installing again.
Opened up my computer to see where the loud noise comes from when playing games: It seems it can be my GPU or the motherboard fan, I'm not sure.
I tried to Google the problem and found a lot of people with this exact same problem, but the problem is that it can be my GPU, PSU, or Motherboard that is faulty. I don't really know how to tell.
Tried getting some dust off the fans with a q-tip since I don't have a can of compressed air on handy.
Would try to reseat my video card but I don't have a screwdriver on handy.
My specs:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB System: Windows 7 64-bit
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (Bought this around 2 months ago to replace my old GPU that was a 430. I don't know if this might be the problem since it is new and not much dust can build up from just 2 months right?
PSU: Thermaltake TR2 500W
Motherboard: Lenovo Ideacentre K330B
The problem only happens when playing games, I can watch videos on YouTube or through VLC and no problems whatsoever; no loud noises and nor crashing. My computer will be on all day and it will not go to black screen, it ONLY happens when playing games.
I have also checked my temperatures through HWMonitor and they are fine. These are the temperatures when my computer is idle. http://imgur.com/IkBMCR5
Don't know if this matters but I set through a program called EVGA Precision X I set my fans from 37% speed to 55% speed and they worked fine.
Once again this started to happen about two days ago. Before I could be gaming for the whole day and no problem would arise. I've had the computer for about 1.5 years and the GPU for almost two months now.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks.
