CPU: amd 8350 fx
original cooler; standerd amd that came with the cpu.
new cooler; alpine 64 gt rev.2
mobo; M5A97 R2.0

I had overheating issues with my stock cpu cooler, i replaced it today. still, my cpu keeps overheating. it overheats when using cpu heavy software like handbreak and windows movoe maker. not as bad during games, but when playing games it can overheat too.

Is the heatsink on correctly? Does it move around at all? And what is your fan set up in your PC?

And are they set up correctly? Such as intake in the front and exhaust in the back. I know it sounds obvious but i've seen it happen differently.

Did you reapply the thermal paste when installing the new heatsink?

No idea why i picked that post as solution, but anyways.. yeah i reapplied thermal to the cpu. i have switched my 2 fans around at the side of case. temps seem to be fluxating well now, no shut down as of yet. so your telling me i was having over heating issues because i had the fans the wrong way? lol now that's funny!

Well I hope it's solved and not just a temporary thing. If you had the 2 fans exhausting the air then your CPU might not be receiving enough cool air to dissipate the heat with, so if I'm correct they should be set to intake air now.
