hi i sent my laptop to get a loose charging port fix was told by the person he had to remove the back to put in a part, however saw that the port was still push down the same way as before but some how he got it to charge, my thing is i feel he charge me to much when he knew that he hardly did any thing to it and it would more likely happen again, my wallpaper was still the way it was wouldnt that be gone and other info as well if he had remove the back to fix the port.

Hard to know what "charge too much" was since you did not put in what you were charged.

He may have replaced or re-soldered the part and did not align it properly (which is not very neat but would still work).

Just opening the case would not do anything to the hard drive, that would be like saying you did not think the oil was changed on the car because it still had mud on it. You're confusing having to wipe the hard drive and install a new Windows setup to the hardware repair. Very few hardware repairs needs a new Windows setup done. And a good tech would be able to move all your settings over anyway unless the hard drive was the bad part.
