If you want to go with the GTX 680, which is better for gaming, I would get the GTX 770. It is slightly faster than the 680, a more updated version with more likely longer support life, and costs a lot less even though it is better. If gaming is not your priority, then the Quadro 4000 is something to consider, but for gaming, the GTX 770 is me recommendation.

These two cards are for different users:

GTX 680: This card is optimized for purely gaming purpose. It is not suitable for scientific use or technically speaking for for workstation use.

Quadro series: This series is designated for scientific/Engineering purpose like 3D heavy rendering, simulation etc. This is very expensive series and it is not optimized for gaming.

If you are looking for card for normal use like using desktop apps, gaming etc then stick with GTX series.

Regards,

The GTX 680 stopped being even remotely desired as soon as the GTX 670 came out. The 680 was only 5% faster for 25% more money.

Also, a 680 is not on par with a 770 - the 770 is a fair bit faster, as it's a 680 with better clock speeds.
