It's been about 6 years since my last computer build. Needless to say, it's time to upgrade. My tech knowledge is so-so, and I really haven't kept up with this kind of thing the way I used to. I'm looking to keep the budget under $1500, but that is flexible. System will be used for gaming. This is what I've picked out so far:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2Zxor

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Asus P8Z77-V LK ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Crucial M500 480GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
EVGA GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card
Antec Nine Hundred ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair Professional 750W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

I could use some opinions on what I've listed... any glaring holes I should correct? I am also open to CPU cooler suggestions. I will be purchasing a monitor and OS as well. Question about the OS: windows 7 or 8? The monitor I'm going to keep in the 23-24 inch range, and I am happy at 1900x1080. Shouldn't be too hard to find something nice in that config, but any advice is welcome!
