Hello everyone.

I recently finished my first build using a MSI GTX 760 Twin Frozr as my GPU.
As you may or may not know this card has 2 HDMI plugs, a DVI-I and a DVI-D plug.
The DVI-I plug is currently being used for my main monitor. My second monitor is a VGA, with no HDMI ports.

I am trying to get the second monitor set up to make my job, as well as my homework easier to do.
Seeing how the older monitor is VGA, and has no HDMI ports, and using a DVI-D adapter would not work on it. This problem has lead to think of alternate ways to get this monitor up and running without shelling out insane amounts of money for a converter or a new monitor.

I have an ancient ATI graphics card that I purchased to give some extra juice to an old clearance Wal-Mart pc that I bought on inpulse. It has a either a DVI-I or a VGA connector on it, maybe even both.

My question is; could I throw that old ATI card into my rig solely for powering my old monitor?
It would be used mainly to display windows media player whilst I am gaming, and displaying web searches while I am working/doing school work. Would this set up work?

Something about that DVI-D is a digital only signal, which wouldn't work on an analog VGA. A while back I thought I read that it would but audio wouldn't work, which isnt a problem because I use separate speakers, and most usually use a headset.
