I have a Bytecc Smart drive 3.5" external hard drive. I misplaced my power cord and can't find a replacement. Any ideas where to look? I tried the company (Bytecc) but their website is in Japanese.

I guess you mean you've got a Bytecc Hard Drive Enclosure , the company don't make ready-to-use external hard drives as such, as far as I'm aware.

Since you've lost the supplied power adapter, you have no way of checking what the correct power parameters need to be for a third-party replacement (ie output wattage and centre-pin polarity). Get it wrong and you could fry the hard drive that's inside the case.

It would be therefore be safer to buy a new enclosure which comes with it's own power adapter. That would also be much cheaper than having to replace a hard drive if you fry it.
